A Greenwich superclub which was the scene of a double stabbing over the bank holiday says it will be open as usual this weekend and blamed punters with "a grievance" for the incident.

The Secret Sundaze event at Studio 338 ended in chaos on May 25 after two people were stabbed at the 3,000-capacity venue.

In a statement published yesterday the Ibiza-style club, which opened in Tunnel Avenue last March, said: "Sadly a small number of individuals who are not our usual clientele managed to gain entry to the event. Studio 338 has been well known for their tough door policy since opening.

"Unfortunately amongst these individuals a grievance led to a criminal act on the premises which forced early closure in order for the incident to be investigated by the authorities.

"The safety and security of our guests is of course our highest priority and something into which we invest a huge amount of time, energy and resources.

"Studio 338 will be open as usual this weekend."

Both victims of the stabbing were taken to hospital but their injuries were not deemed to be life changing.

Since the incident, angry clubbers have demanded refunds for the event, where tickets were on sale for up to £24.50.

Secret Sundaze said in a statement: "We understand people are disappointed that the event had to be closed early, as are we, and we will be responding to the questions and comments from everyone affected over the coming days so please bear with us and we will get back to you soon."
