A drone that went missing during a flight in Danson Park has been found, after it landed in a Welling man's driveway.

Last month, Ian Diboll was flying his Walkera Scout X4 - worth more than £1,000 - around 200 feet from Danson Lake when it "flew off of its own accord".

Hours later Ian White, who lives in nearby Birch Grove, returned home to find the quadraceptor had crash landed outside his house.

Mr White, 63, told News Shopper: "I'd just got home and parked my car in my drive and I heard a noise.

"I thought it was coming from my car but when I got out I realised the drone had crash landed.

"I think it had just fallen from the sky.

"I looked up and down the road to see if I could see any children with a remote control. I drove around the area for around 10 minutes looking for people.

"I thought it was quite expensive so in the end I phoned the police.

"They recommended I keep it overnight and in the morning if I hadn't found the owner I would take it to Bexleyheath Police Station, which I did.

"I only found out it had been reported in your paper later, when I was told by some friends."

Mr White added the drone was badly damaged, with only two of the engines working, while the camera had broken away from the body but was still attached.

He added: "It could have damaged a child, it could even have killed a child."

Mr Diboll has been informed of the drone's whereabouts.
