Shoppers faced a soaking this afternoon (May 13) as a burst water main wreaked havoc in Gravesend town centre.
The incident happened outside McDonald's, where New Road meets Stone Street, and saw water propelled several feet into the air.
A spokeswoman for Southern Water confirmed it was caused by a leaking valve on the water supply network.

She said: "We are repairing it right now.
"We have had to switch off the water supply of around 30 properties in order to do this.
"We don't know how long it will take but we are working as fast as we can and apologise for the inconvenience."
