Why do you want to represent this constituency? To build a safe and secure society for our children and grandchildren.

What local policy are you most passionate about? Eliminating youth unemployment completely - so no one has to leave school and join the benefits system.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Conservative and pro-union.

Who is your biggest hero? Churchill

What is your proudest moment? Being appointed to the Cabinet as Defence Secretary.

Where are you from originally? Tonbridge

Why do you want to represent this constituency? I worked in Sevenoaks for 20 years and stood there in the 2010 general election, coming second. This time, I aim to win the seat.

What local policy are you most passionate about? Sorting out schooling issues, there are not sufficient places locally for all pupils and their parents.  

Describe yourself in 3 words: Hard working commuter.

Who is your biggest hero? Nick Clegg, for keeping us in government for five years, delivering Lib Dem policies on education, childcare, and taking the low paid out of paying income tax.

What is your proudest moment? Getting my PhD on the Tamil Tigers, researched in the warzones of Sri Lanka.

Where do you live? In a shared ownership flat in Croydon.

Where are you from originally? Born in Maidstone, raised in Headcorn, went to school in Maidstone.

Why do you want to represent this constituency? It's a scandal that this constituency has - and needs - a food bank. This community deserves an MP who will help people out of poverty.

What local policy are you most passionate about? I have met so many young people who can't find a decent job or afford to move out of their parents' home. My priorities would be building more homes, giving renters better rights, increasing the quality and number of apprenticeships and creating more jobs.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Social justice campaigner.

Who is your biggest hero? Aneurin Bevan, the coal miner who became a minister in the 1945 Labour government and created the National Health Service

What is your proudest moment? Giving a televised speech at Labour conference about rip-off rail fares and the need to bring our railways back into public ownership.
