A Bexley Council officer has been dismissed after being arrested in connection with a fraud investigation concerning a Bexleyheath care agency.
The unnamed official was detained by police on July 31 last year as officers looked into allegations of fraud at the Sonia Heway care agency based in Pickford Road.
The agency’s manager Caroline Fawole was also arrested on the same day after an allegation made on July 28.
The pair were bailed and police have since said they will not be pressing charges.
A Bexley Council spokeswoman said: "As always our first priority is the welfare of our residents.
"Following these allegations the council carried out a formal disciplinary investigation that concluded with a hearing and a member of staff was consequently dismissed.
"As a result of this action and further safeguarding investigations the council no longer uses the Sonia Heway Care Agency."
