A man has appealed for the public's help after his quadraceptor drone disappeared during a flight in Danson Park.

Ian Diboll was flying his Walkera Scout X4 at around 11.30am last Thursday (April 23) around 200 feet from Danson Lake, when it "flew off of its own accord".

The device can be worth more than £1,000.

The 49-year-old, from Beckenham, said: "I was flying it at approximately 80 to 100 feet.

"I went to return it home and it didn't return home, it just kept flying away from me.

"I could hear it but I could no longer see it. Eventually I lost all sound and when I looked at my transmitter it was no longer reading it.

"I panicked. I spent two and a half hours looking up in the trees to see if it was up there.

"It just flew off of its own accord."
