Sundance Film Festival is returning to London next year - but not to Greenwich.

The English branch the mega film festival, which was started by movie star Robert Redford, was held at the O2 in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

It featured premieres of the likes of Frank, Fruitvale Station, Obvious Child and The Trip to Italy and saw appearances from the likes of Prince Charles, Michael Fassbender, Gemma Arterton, Ryan Reynolds and the Eagles.

This year’s Sundance London never happened and next year it returns but to central London.

It will launch at the new Picturehouse Central on the site of the former Cineworld in Shaftesbury Avenue.

The 1,000-seat cinema will have seven screens and three cafe bars and will open in June.
