Chelsea may be on course to win the Premier League but there is one title the Blues can’t lay claim to – best supported team in London.
According to Twitter, Arsenal fans are the dominant force in the capital.
The social media giant has produced a Premier League Twitter fan map, showing a worldwide breakdown of the followers of all 20 clubs.
It was created by looking at the official Twitter accounts for each team, using their followers as an indicator of allegiance.
In London, Arsenal are top of the table, leaving the capital’s five other Premier League clubs’ Twitter accounts in the shade.
@Arsenal not only has more followers in the Gunners’ home of Highbury and Islington, but also beats rivals Tottenham (@SpursOfficial) and @ChelseaFC in their local patches.
Arsenal also rule in Crystal Palace’s (@CPFC) manor.
Liverpool are the most followed club on Twitter in the home areas of West Ham (@WHUFC_official) and Queens Park Rangers (@QPRFC).
The Twitter map shows the often used claim that Manchester United fans all come from London and the Home Counties. The Red Devils’ account isn’t the most followed anywhere in the south east region.
