POLICE said a wanted man staged a 30-minute 'roof top protest' this morning.

Officers said they attended a property in Parrock Parade, Crawshawbooth, just after 9am, but the man they wanted to speak to climbed out of a skylight and on to the roof of the property.

Inspector Phil Hutchings said: "He tried to escape by climbing out on to the roof, and wouldn't come down for about half an hour."

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fraud offences.
