Gravesham Council have pledged £2.6 million to regenerate Northfleet's sporting facilities.
Council leader Councillor John Burden has confirmed that the council will revamp Fleet Sports and Leisure Club in Nelson Road to the tune of up to £2.6m.
Financial trouble led to the ground closing in September 2013, but the council have plans to build a new gym, a social area, several 3G all-weather five-a-side pitches and a number of seven-a-side pitches.

Coun Burden said: "It is a real positive investment for the community.
"Local school and groups can use the facilities and it will be of great benefit for them.
"Our local facility, Cascades, is already over subscribed so this is much needed in the area."
Plans were agreed at a cabinet meeting on Monday (March 30) and will be passed to be council's scrutiny committee on next Thursday (April 9).
