A 76-year-old supergran raised more than £3,000 for a Sutton charity by skydiving over Salisbury Plain.
Laura Oram, of Christ-church Park, was one of 10 people, alongside her grandson Adam Diamond-Smith who took to the skies on March 22 to raise funds for St Raphael’s Hospice.
The 10,000ft jump was Laura’s final fundraising venture after years of doing activities for the benefit of others.
She said: “You know something, I don’t think people want me to go on asking for money – I’m just so glad I got to do something fun.”
Laura raised £3,201 for St Raphael’s Hospice, and the total raised by the skydivers currently stands at £7,785.50.
The hospice, in London Road, North Cheam, provides medical and nursing care for people with serious illnesses.
About 80 per cent of their £5m-a-year costs comes through charity fundraising and donations.
