A real life penguin hung out with kids at Albemarle Primary School this morning.
Rhys Edwards the star of the John Lewis advert joined the fun
It was all part of an initiative with road safety charity Brake, in partnership with DreamWorks Animation’s Penguins of Madagascar film.
Primary schools across the UK are being challenged to walk the distance to Madagascar to promote healthy living.
The initiative was launched this morning at the Southfields school.
All 280 pupils were led on a walk by Rhys Edwards, 8, the star of the Christmas John Lewis advert.
There were also four people in penguin costumes, to mark the DVD release of Penguins of Madagascar.
Theresa Moses, headteacher at Albemarle Primary school, said: “The pupils here love the Madagascar films and were over the moon when they met the real penguin, Rhys and the characters from the film.
"As supporters of Brake’s Giant Walk initiatives we are always looking for ways to inspire our children to get more active outdoors and it’s great that they can be inspired by characters they all know and love in this way.”
