A would-be burglar was scared off before stealing anything in Thames Ditton earlier this month.

The criminal had forced entry through a rear window in Onslow Way, Thames Ditton, soon after 5pm on Tuesday, March 10.

Surrey Police would like to speak to a man seen in the area at about the same the time, in connection with the burglary.

He was white, about 5ft 7in, of athletic build and wearing a silver or grey hooded top worn with the hood up. He was seen running towards Newlands Avenue, police said.

Detective Constable Lyndsay Parfitt from North Surrey CID said: "It is believed the offenders may have been disturbed during the burglary as thankfully nothing was taken.

"This occurred in broad daylight and I would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the time of the incident to contact us with any information as any detail, no matter how small, could prove vital in helping the investigation."
