Police want to speak to witnesses after a man was assaulted while attempting to board a train at Gravesend station.

The incident occurred on Wednesday February 25 at around 3.30pm.

Police Constable Andy Thompson, investigating for British Transport Police, said: "A 30-year-old man and his four-year-old stepson approached a Gillingham-bound train on platform two.

“A disagreement with another man took place that led to a physical assault.”

A 57-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of assault.

He was released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

PC Thompson added: "I am keen to speak to anyone who was at the station and believes they may have witnessed this incident."
