A violent criminal who escaped justice for a string of robberies, burglaries and assaults, could be sleeping rough in Waltham Forest.

Janusz Kedziora, 28, is one of seventeen foreign nationals being hunted by the Metropolitan Police's Extradition Unit as part of Operation Sunfire.

Polish national Kedziora, also goes by the name of Michal Krawczyk, and is due to serve a 10 year prison sentence for committing actual bodily harm, criminal damage, robbery, attempted robbery, burglary and car theft in his home country.

In March 2005 Kedziora carried out five robberies and one attempted robbery with the help of others.

During one incident, they broke the victim's teeth when robbing him of beer. In February 2007, he and a juvenile burgled a restaurant, stealing money and alcohol.

That same month, he and an associate punched and kicked a man until they broke his nose.

He then carried out three robberies in April of that year and attacked one victim with tear gas before punching and kicking him as he robbed him of his mobile phone and cash.

A Met spokesman, said: "He has previous links to Waltham Forest and Maidstone, Kent.

"Intelligence suggests he may be living on the streets in Newham or Waltham Forest."

A second dangerous man wanted in connection with rape could be living in Redbridge.

Roland Ostvalds, 24, is believed to be one of the attackers involved in the rape of a woman in Liepaja, Latvia, on October 24 2010.

Police confirm he has links to Redbridge, Havering, Newham and Tower Hamlets.

Officers leading the investigation are appealing for the public's help as they believe the men are hiding in the UK and the vast majority have links to London.

This is the fourth time the Met have run Operation Sunfire. Previous appeals have led to 20 out of 42 wanted criminals being arrested in the UK and by overseas authorities.

Leading the operation is Detective Sergeant Peter Rance, who said: "We believe that these people are dangerous, so taking them out of our communities and putting them before the courts is of paramount importance.

"I urge the public to look closely at these pictures. Do you recognise these men? It may be that they live next door to you, or you see them regularly elsewhere in your community.

"We conduct extensive enquiries on a daily basis, however, experience tells us that co-ordinated operations such as Sunfire encourage the public to provide us with the information that often leads to arrests.

"If you have information on their whereabouts, please tell Crimestoppers, so that we can arrest them.

"If you see them, call 999 and do not approach them."
