A "bewildered" Staffordshire bull terrier had a lonely Valentine’s Day - after he was tied to a lamp post and abandoned in a dark alleyway in Erith.
The young male, now named Valentino, was found off Cloudesley Road at around 9pm on Saturday evening (February 14).
His lead was attached to a street lamp with twine and next to him a note said: "Need a new home".
It is believed he had been there for at least three hours.

RSPCA inspector Joanna Bishop said: "Poor Valentino was dumped on Valentine’s Day.
"The only word to describe the way he was sitting there under that street light in the dark alley is bewildered.
"His face seemed to say ‘Why am I here?’
“He was a blue Staffy with the blues.”
Fortunately Valentino was in good condition and has already been offered a new home.
It is an offence to abandon an animal in this way. Anyone with any information about how Valentino came to be left like this should call the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.
