Orchard School, Sidcup, one of the most improved schools in the country in terms of attainment and progress of disadvantaged children since 2011 has been awarded £1000 in the Key Stage 2 category of the pupil premium awards. This is excellent news for the school .which has now been invited to bid for a larger prize, including the national prize of £100,000. Watch this space!

Pupil premium is a sum of money given to schools for each disadvantaged child that must be spent to narrow the gap in achievement between disadvantaged and non disadvantaged children.

In a letter to the Head Teacher, Miss Lavelle, Bexley’s Deputy Director, Education and SEN, Moyra Pickering, stated that ' it’s a high achievement and shows the good work being undertaken since 2011’.

The Head Teacher and the Governors would like to thank the staff at the school for all their hard work, focus and dedication.
