Two men have appeared in court accused of anally raping a teenager who had arrived in the country just the day before.

Saeed Fatemi, 20, and Mojitaba Changi, 33, both of Lea Bridge Road in Walthamstow, east London, are charged with raping the then-18-year-old in Canbury Gardens in the early hours of Saturday, September 13, last year.

Prosecutor Sally Fudge told Kingston Crown Court on Monday they had committed a “brutal attack on a young and vulnerable girl who was barely into adulthood”, and who was “simply looking to spend time with her family and friends”.

The teen had arrived in the area to visit and went out in Kingston town centre with a friend, the court heard. The pair were separated when she did not get on a bus.

The teen then met Mr Fatemi, who gained her confidence, Miss Fudge said.

Miss Fudge said: “She says, just in brief, that she was approached by a man that she did not know. She was lost, she had been separated from her friends.

“She had had a few drinks, but that, we say, gives no excuse for what happened to her.

“The man who she did not know was the defendant Saeed Fatemi. He walked her around the town, then led her into the park where the defendant Mojitaba Changi was waiting.

“There they both took their turns in raping her.”

She added: “The defendants both say that this was not rape. The defendant, Fatemi, claims that [the complainant] was in fact offering herself to him in exchange for money.”

Both Mr Changi and Mr Fatemi deny rape. The trial continues.
