Beauty students did the makeup, photography students snapped away and media students rolled their cameras at a college's fashion show.

Pupils from Barnet and Southgate College went to Brent Cross Shopping Centre, in Prince Charles Drive, Hendon, to present a winter showcase of live music, fashion shows and photography exhibitions.

The event combined the talents of art, music, hairdressing, beauty and photography students, who were all given the chance to use the skills they learned during their courses.

The event included a make-up show for beauty students as photography students showcased their work, which was filmed by media students as a live project for their portfolios.

Hairdressing student Patience Yebuah, 27, said: “The theme behind my hair design was 'celebration', so I chose a bridal outfit for my model; wearing white, with flowers within the hair design.

“I chose an avant-garde design for the hair, utilising colours such as purple, which represents royalty and green and gold, to signify wealth.

“I’ve really enjoyed the catwalk show, it’s been great experience and there’s been lots of interest from the public about what we’ve created.”
