More than 100 people were arrested in the winter crackdown on drink and drug-driving.

A further 19 people arrested in the last week of December drove the final figure to 106.

Overall, 65 people have been charged, 26 people are currently bailed and 15 have had no further action taken. To date [Wednesday, January 7] 14 people have been convicted at court.

Surrey Police, in a joint partnership with Sussex Police and the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, Drive Smart and the independent charity Crimestoppers ran the campaign over the Christmas and new year period.

Police released the names of people who have been charged, while officers tweeted about people who have been stopped on suspicion of drink or drug-driving offences.

On Christmas Day, Birgit Jensen, 71, of Carrick Gate, Esher, was stopped in Esher. She was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Staines Magistrates' Court on January 14.

On Boxing Day, Sean David, 53, of Molesey Park Road, East Molesey, was stopped in East Molesey. He was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Staines Magistrates' Court on January 14.

On December 28, Michael Cain, 41, of Monument Road, Weybridge, was stopped in Sunbury. He was charged with failing to provide a sample and released on bail to appear at Staines Magistrates' Court on January 14.

On the same day, Paul Chatterton, 39, of Town Tree Road, Ashford, was stopped in Weybridge. He was charged with drink-driving and bailed to appear at Staines Magistrates' Court on January 14.

Members of the public can report suspected drink drivers in the following ways: - Calling police on 101.

- Dialling 999 in an emergency situation.

- Suspected drink drivers can also be reported anonymously by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

- Text message: Anyone in Surrey who spots a suspected drink driver can send a message to 66644 with the prefix work POLICE. For example, 'POLICE drink driver red ford fiesta ABC123 M23 northbound.'
