Three of our south-east London areas feature in the top 10 London boroughs for house price growth during last year.

Property company CBRE has carried out research which found Lambeth to be the best performing borough, with house prices rocketing by 40.1 per cent in 2014.

Lewisham, Greenwich and Bromley also make its top 10, as shown in the table below.

CBRE found that while the central London market had outperformed Greater London throughout the past decade, the ’price growth wave’ had rippled out of the City and Westminster to neighboring boroughs and beyond last year.

Jennet Siebrits, head of residential research at CBRE, said: ““The London residential market has seen a significant uplift throughout the last decade, with the most significant house price growth in the City of London, City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea at 194 per cent, 183 per cent and 170 per cent respectively.

“This year, the ripple effect has made a significant impact to areas such as Lambeth and Wandsworth. Largely driven by a resurgence in domestic appetite, Lambeth was the best performer by far in 2014, with a growth of over 40.1 per cent.”
