PEOPLE in Hillingdon now have access to a new NHS service that brings skin treatment closer to their homes.
GPs can now refer them to a consultant-led dermatology clinic available at three locations across the borough.
Mehboob Saleh, of Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Patients can choose the location and appointment times across three community-based clinics.
“They can expect to be seen in less than four weeks. Results will also be sent back to the GP within four working days of seeing the patient.”
The dermatology clinics are located at: Wood Lane Medical Centre, 2A Wood Lane, Ruislip Cedar Brook Practice, 11 Kingshill Close, Hayes, and Mountwood Surgery, Rickmansworth Road, Northwood.
Ceri Jacob, Chief Officer of Hillingdon CCG said: “We spoke with more than 400 patients, carers and members of the public who gave their views on the new service.
“A further 15,000 people were involved in the decision-making process on some level.
“We asked if they would support a consultant- led community clinic and 84% said they either strongly supported or supported the proposal.”
