Pupils from a Saturday school donated half a tonne of goods to the Harrow FoodBank.

The children from Sai School of Harrow collected the food and other items over the past month and dropped them off earlier this week.

The donation drive, which included pupils past and present as well as staff, was part of the build-up to the school’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

Harrow FoodBank is part of the Trussell Trust and provides three days of emergency food to people referred by partner organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau and Harrow Borough Council.

The Sai School is a free Saturday School which teaches citizenship classes to Hindu children from the age of five to 15 and is run entirely by volunteers.
