A pub has revealed its pride in creating a “colourful” garden to scoop second place at an annual competition.
The Crown and Horseshoe pub, in Horseshoe Lane, Enfield, took silver at Enfield in Bloom’s best public house category.
Chris Sturgess, manager of the pub, was presented with the award by former Tottenham Hotspur player Tony Galvin and said the pub had “put a lot of thought” for this year’s competition.
He said: “We put a lot of thought and effort into our colourful and welcoming garden displays, and our customers’ reactions make it all worthwhile. This award will take pride of place in the pub and next year we hope to have a gold award to go with it.”
Jonathan Webster, managing director for Greene King Local pubs, added: “Flowers add a special touch to any pub and the Crown & Horseshoes has worked hard to keep the garden looking immaculate. Congratulations to the team for their hard work and for this very well deserved accolade.”
