Parking in Haringey’s pay and display bays and council-run car parks will be free on December 6 as the borough celebrates Small Business Saturday.
The annual event champions small and independent businesses, such as local shops, market holders and producers.
The free parking will top off a festive weekend of shopping celebrations for Haringey, with the Crouch End Festival Christmas Craft Market and the Tottenham Green Winter Festival on December 6, followed by the Myddleton Road Market on December 7.
Haringey Council leader Councillor Claire Kober said: “Haringey has some of the best local businesses in London and it’s great that we get to celebrate them on Small Business Saturday.
“This is a chance for our residents to check out their local shops or to pop to one of Haringey’s other high streets without needing to pay for parking. I hope that the free parking will also encourage shoppers from elsewhere in London to give Haringey’s shops a go.”
Controlled parking zones and other essential parking restrictions such as if roadworks will remain in force on Small Business Saturday, including matchday parking controls around Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Events on the weekend of December 6 and 7 include:
- Small Business Saturday, all day December 6
- Tottenham Winter Festival, Tottenham Green, N15. 12pm to 6pm December 6
- Crouch End Festival Christmas Craft Market, Hornsey Town Hall Square, N8. 10am to 5pm, December 6
- Myddleton Road Market, Myddleton Road, N22. 11am to 4pm, December 7
