A motorbike rider in his 50s ended up underneath a car as it pulled out of a junction, a witness has said.

The crash happened at about 9.30am this morning in Oxshott, causing delays in both directions.

A witness saw a MK2 VW Sharan pull out of Steels Lane junction before colliding with the motorbike.

They said at 10.40am the road was clear and an ambulance was checking the male rider on the forecourt of the Esso garage.

A spokesman from South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "The ambulance crew was on the scene for about an hour. It appeared the patient did not require hospital treatment."

A Surrey Police spokesman said: "The rider of the motorbike, a man, was treated for minor injuries at the scene by paramedics and the road was re-opened at 11.29am."
