An out of hours noise complaints service has landed Elmbridge Council an award.
Elmbridge Council won the John Connell Local Authority Award 2014 for the partnership between the council and the police.
The council did not have an out of hours patrol for noise complaints, but introduced a pilot scheme in 2013 and a full service in April 2014.
Council officers and police officers patrol the borough in a police car from 8.30pm on Saturday through to 3am on Sunday, dealing with all noise, taxi and alcohol licensing complaints.
The ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 5, at the House of Commons.
