Your guide to services and ceremonies taking place in the Bromley borough.
Bromley
A service is being held at Bromley Parish Church, Church Road, from 10.45am. The mayor and mayoress, Councillor Julian Benington and Valerie Benington, MP Bob Neill, along with chief executive of Bromley Council Doug Patterson and the Representative Deputy Lieutenant, will lead the way to the war memorial for the wreath laying ceremony.
Beckenham War Memorial
A wreath-laying ceremony will take place at Beckenham War Memorial, in High Street Beckenham, from 10.50am. The ceremony will last about 45 minutes, to be followed by a parade. Those attending are asked to arrive by 10.30am.
Bickley
St George’s Parish Church will be holding a ceremony from 10.30am.
Biggin Hill
Services will be held at St Mark’s Church, in Church Road, from 10am, attended by Councillor Richard Scoates. Another service starts at 10.30am at St George’s Chapel, along Main Road.
A wreath will be laid in front of the Gate Guardians about 11.15am, the mayor and mayoress will attend the wreath laying ceremony at noon.
The congregations from both services will meet at the war memorial where wreaths will be laid at noon.
Bromley Common and Keston
Councillor Ruth Bennett will represent the borough at Holy Trinity Church, Church Lane, Bromley Common, at a service from 10am. This will be followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the war memorial at 11am.
Chelsfield and Pratts Bottom
Councillor Lydia Buttinger will read at a service at St Martin of Tours Church in Church Road, Chelsfield. People are asked to arrive by 10.30am.
Cray Valley East
A service will be held at 10am at St Mary Cray Parish Church, High Street, St Mary Cray.
Cray Valley West
Councillors David Livett and Terence Nathan will attend a service at St Barnabas Church, Rushet Road, St Paul’s Cray, at 10.30am.
Chislehurst
St Nicholas Church in Church Lane, Chislehurst, will be having a ceremony at 9.30am followed by a wreath laying ceremony at 10.50am at the war memorial.
Farnborough and Crofton
Councillor Tim Stevens will be laying a wreath at St Paul’s Church in Crofton Road at 10.15am.
A procession will take place from the lych gate of the St Giles the Abbot Church, Church Road, Farnborough Village. It leaves at 10.30am.
Hayes and Coney Hall
Councillor Graham Arthur will be attending a ceremony at St Mary the Virgin, in Hayes Street, Hayes, at 10.30am.
Mottingham and Chislehurst North
Councillor David Cartwright will be attending a service at the Mottingham War Memorial, in the car park of the Porcupine Public House, 24 Mottingham Road, at 10.45am, followed by a wreath laying ceremony.
A service will begin at 10am at St Edward’s Church, St. Keverne Road, Mottingham, attended by Councillor Charles Rideout.
Orpington
Deputy mayor Councillor Kate Lymer and Councillor William-Huntingdon- Thresher will attend a wreath laying ceremony at the Orpington War Memorial, along High Street, at 10am.
This will be followed by a service at All Saints Parish Church, Bark Hart Road, Orpington, at 10.50am.
Penge and Cator
St John’s Church in the High Street, Penge, will be hosting a service at 10.30am. Councillor Peter Fookes will be at the service at Holy Trinity Church, Lennard Road, Penge, at 10.30am.
Petts Wood and Knoll
Councillor Simon Fawthrop will read at the 9.30am service at St Francis Church, in Willet Way, Petts Wood.
A wreath laying ceremony will take place at Petts Wood War Memorial, at 11am.
Plaistow and Sundridge
Councillor Michael Turner will be attending the 10am service at St Andrew’s Church, in Burnt Ash Lane.
Shortlands
St Mary’s Church, in Kingswood Road, will be holding a service at 10.15am.
West Wickham
A service and wreath laying ceremony will be held at the war memorial at Corkscrew Hill starting at 10.45am. Councillor Tom Philpott will be attending.
