Two men from Orpington and Pratts Bottom have been charged after an assault at a railway station left a man with "significant" head and facial injuries.

The incident happened at Christchurch railway station in Dorset on Saturday (October 18).

Nathan Brown, 21, of Glentrammon Road, Orpington, has been charged with wounding with intent.

Oliver Smith, 24, of Sevenoaks Road, Pratts Bottom, has been charged with a breach of public order.

Both will appear before Bournemouth Magistrates' Court today (October 20).

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: "The charges relate to an incident at Christchurch station, brought to BTP’s attention shortly before 9pm on Saturday.

"Colleagues from Dorset Police and South Western Ambulance Service also attended, and discovered the injured man.

"He was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment for significant head and facial injuries."
