Sutton's "vibrant theatres" are at the heart of the community. These are the opening words of a job advert Sutton Council launched as it seeks to find a new front of house manager for the potentially doomed theatres.

The advert on Sutton Council's website, which expired on September 21, states the six-month position would require flexibility in working in the Secombe, Charles Cryer and Wallington Halls.

The Council has proposed closing all three of these as a part of cost cutting measures.

The job advert reads: "We need a dedicated front of house manager to run our shows as professionally and with the same level of commitment as the best act on stage.

"If customer service is your passion, health and safety your constant concern, and 'welcome' is your favourite word, then we want to hear from you."

The position pays between £21,588 and £25,710 a year.
