A man has been arrested for drink driving after flipping his BMW onto its roof in a collision.
Emergency services have been unable to confirm the exact details of the crash, but one person who lives opposite the scene, said it appears the BMW had landed on top of a silver Citroen Saxo.
Sutton police report the driver smashed into the curb, before hurtling into a bus stop and flipping the car over in London Road, Hackbridge.
Reports the collision ended a night-time drag race between the motorist and another driver are unconfirmed.
Members of the public reported seeing two men racing through London Road before the collision on Tuesday, September 30.
But other readers have said the Citroen Saxo was stationary when it was struck by the BMW.
Jonathan Brown, who lives in London Road, said: "From what I could see there was a car that lost control coming over the bridge, and flew through the air and landed on top of the silver car.
"That's why there is only damage on top of the bonnet of the Saxo."

London Ambulance Service sent two crews to the scene at 11.59pm, and treated a 26-year-old man for back pain, who was later taken to the Epsom and St Helier Hospital.
A Sutton police spokesman said the matter is under police investigation and is unable to comment further.
