A man arrested in Tottenham after a hit-and-run has been charged.
Lee Smith, 23, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving with no insurance and failing to stop after a road collision.
Police were chasing a black Ford Focus on Monday when it hit a woman, aged 27, near the junction of Shepherd's Hill and the A1 Archway Road.
The Focus did not stop, and the woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.
She remains there receiving treatment for head and leg injuries. Her condition is serious but not believed life-threatening.
Mr Smith remains in custody and will appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday September 19.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Alperton are continuing to investigate.
