Organisers from the Indian Malayalee community are celebrating the success of Bromley’s Onam festival.
Around 500 people attended the festival at the Civic Centre in Stockwell Close on Sunday (September 14).
Onam is a harvest festival traditionally celebrated in the south west Indian state of Kerala where people from all religions are invited to take part.
Bromley Mayor, Councillor Julian Benington lit a lamp to inaugurate the festivities.
He was accompanied by Mayoress Valerine Benington.
Festival visitors from Kent, Surry and Greater London enjoyed folk and classical dance performances, music and a traditional Keralite meal.
Bromley Malayalee Association secretary, Manoj Nair, said the day was culturally enriched and fun packed.
He said: “With the Onam celebrations turning out to be a rousing success and uplifting the spirit of Malayalee community, we are gearing up to celebrate Christmas and New Year 2015."
