From having melons sliced in half on her stomach to having apples chainsawed out of her mouth, a Dartford performer has set four world records with a series of extraordinary stunts.

Daniella D'Ville, of Highfield Road, is a traditional Victorian sideshow entertainer who has toured the world with her daring acts.

And the 26-year-old's talents have seen her recognised several times in this year's Guinness Book of Records.

This includes breaking the record for the most melons chopped on someone's stomach while lying on a bed of nails - 10 in 30 seconds; the fastest time to break 16 concrete blocks on someone's stomach with a sledgehammer - 30.4 seconds; the most apples chainsawed out of someone's mouth - 12 in a 60 seconds; and most rotations of a sword balanced on a dagger - nine in a 60 seconds.

The former Blackfen School for Girls pupil says her show also involves swallowing razor blades, hammering nails into her nose and balancing bare foot on the edge of a samurai sword.

She said: "I have wanted to be a performer ever since I was four years old.

"When I am on stage, performing, it is the one time I feel so relaxed, I don't have a care in the world.

"It is like meditating. If I had the biggest problems in the world they'd disappear on stage.

"I love the reaction from the audience when you do a dangerous stunt. You get a buzz out of it."

Daniella says she began performing five years ago when she left dance school, and hasn't looked back since.

She told News Shopper: "I trained to become a dancer but I loved sideshow entertainers.

"My first job out of dance school was a show that involved this kind of entertainment. One day they asked me to train up to do the bed of nails so I said I'd do it.

"When I first performed it, a few months later, I was a bit nervous but the crowd went crazy."
