A CCTV image has been released of man suspected of attacking a bus passenger with a knife.  

Suspect 156642 is wanted in connection with grievous bodily harm (GBH) onboard a 257 bus in Hoe Street, Walthamstow.

The incident happened at 6.20pm on July 19 when a bus driver stopped a journey after the teenager, believed to be 19 years old, refused to tap his Oyster card on the reader when boarding the bus. 

A 23-year-old woman intervened requesting he pay for the journey, but he again refused.  

He is then said to have pulled out a knife and slashed the woman under the eye. 

The CCTV image has been released to the Guardian as part of a joint venture with the Metropolitan Police to identify perpetrators of unsolved crimes in the borough.
