DETECTIVES looking for missing schoolgirl Alice Gross have arrested a second man on suspicion of murder.

Alice, 14, from Hanwell, was last seen near the Grand Union Canal at Brentford 11 days ago.

She had recently been diagnosed with anorexia, her mother said.

A man of 51 was arrested in Hanwell on Sunday afternoon. A 25-year-old man had already been held in Ealing the previous day.

Police have been given more time to question the first detainee and he can now be held until Tuesday.

A Met Police spokesman said the men, who are in custody at a west London police station, had no connection to each other.

Police divers are continuing to search the canal where Alice was last seen.

An amazing community response to the disappearance has unfolded in the last week with 14,000 Facebook members for the FindAlice page and 5,000 posters displayed across the area.
