Hundreds of patients have helped Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals Trust complete two major research projects.

More than 800 patients agreed to take part in four month projects designed to validate an International Patient Dignity Scale, which could be used worldwide.

Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's research and development manager, Dr Martha Wrigley, expressed her thanks to the patients and said: "This is an important piece of research which will quantify and measure more closely and accurately what we really mean by dignified care, what that dignity means to our patients and whether it meets their expectations."

Once the results from this study have been analysed, they will help understanding of what can be done to improve patient dignity.
