Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett has pledged support to the London Air Ambulance

The politician, who is also Lord Commissioner of the Treasury, announced he was backing the life-saving service during a parliamentary event.

A reception at the House of Commons hosted by the charity saw various MPs attend to show their support.

The event on Wednesday (September 3) highlighted the work the organisation has carried out over the last 25 years.

London Air Ambulance is also appealing for funds for a second helicopter.

Mr Evennett said: "We are all immensely grateful to the London Air Ambulance which does vital work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, treating critically ill patients.

"In Bexley alone, they helped 40 people last year. I was delighted to show my support and thank them for everything they do."
