An eco-appeal has been launched to help a church make ecological improvements to the building and site.
The church wants to become greener, and hopes to achieve this through projects aimed at reducing energy use and carbon footprint.
St Christopher's Church, Hinchley Wood, wants to insulate the church roof space, replace halogen lighting with low energy LED lighting, and develop an alternative energy source, at a cost of £12,000.
The vicar, Reverend John Kronenberg, gave each of the congregation £10 and challenged them to at least double it.
The congregation responded with lemonade and cake stalls, raffles, sponsored runs and gin evenings, and soon raised £2,500.
The latest drive to raise money for the appeal is a Bollywood Ball on Saturday, September 27. Visit stchristopherschurch.org.uk.
