A CCTV image has been released by police trying to trace a woman who attempted to shoplift.

Suspect 156101 is wanted in connection with an incident at TK Maxx in Leyton Mills Retail Park in Marshall Road.

The woman pictured visited the store on August 7 at around 10am.

She attempted to steal a pair of jeans and a dress by taking the items into the dressing room and ripping off the electronic security tags, causing ink to run all over the clothes.

The damaged clothes were found in the changing room and the woman was confronted by a staff member and admitted trying to steal the clothes.

However, she was not detained as the staff member was alone.

The CCTV image has been released to the Guardian as part of a joint venture with the Metropolitan Police to identify perpetrators of unsolved crimes in the borough.

Anyone with information is asked contact Waltham Forest police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

No doubt, this will blot her integrity. Let's hope someone spots her.
