More burial space is to be created across the borough.
Enfield Council is rolling out a £600,000 project, which will allow concrete lined plots to be dug in areas of cemeteries which are unsuitable for regular burials due to ground conditions.
More traditional earth dug graves will still be available for burials.
Southbury Councillor Chris Bond, cabinet member for environment and community safety, said: “This is a sensible, proportionate and effective way of making sure that our available burial space can be used more flexibly and will last longer.”
