A West Ham fan who was fined £305 in court this week for taking a free kick during a Premier League game has raised the money to pay for his "moment of madness" in just one day.

Jordan Dunn, from Dover in Kent, began an online appeal to ask for donations towards the penalty given to him at Thames Magistrates Court this week.

Dunn sprinted from the stands at Upton Park on August 16 before striking the ball being lined up by Tottenham Hotspur player Christian Eriksen.

His shot was saved by West Ham's Spanish goalkeeper Adrian San Miguel del Castillo, while the fan was chased by a steward.

Mr Dunn, who was not banned from football grounds, posted on the Go Fund Me page: “Please all donate as much as u like, every little helps to pay off my court fine, all very much appreciated Hammers.. IRONS IRONS IRONS.”

The page opened on September 1 and the entire amount was donated in just one day.

Rich Harling said it was ‘worth every penny’ as he donated £5.

Derek Pettet who also gave a fiver said: “Highlight of the game, as usual, none of our defenders closed you down.

Another donation came from Steve Poulter who wrote: “Can you kick right footed as well? Really funny when the rather rotund steward stacked it in the first 30 yards of chasing you.”
