A former mayor of Haringey has died following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Ronald Blanchard, a Labour councillor in the Harringay ward from 1978 to 2006, passed away on August 22, aged 84.

Mr Blanchard was Mayor of Haringey from 1996 to 1997.

He is survived by his daughters Marie, Bevan and Yavanna.
