The borough commander has praised the actions of traders who rushed to the aid of a man who was slashed across the face.
Police were called to The Broadway, Stanmore, before 5pm last Thursday to reports a 20-year-old was stabbed across the face and arms.
The man pulled up in a car down a side road and got out asking for help as he approached traders whilst covered in blood, who calmed him down and helped dress his wounds.
Simon Ovens, Borough Commander for Harrow, said: “I was very proud of the members of the public who came to help him. It’s typical of Harrow people to help someone in distress.
“It’s a very unusual occurrence for something like this to happen in Harrow and I can assure you, it will receive a robust investigation and I expect to bring someone to justice for this.”
A man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.
