  • The Lambs’ Tale

This Is Local London:

The authors of the much loved Tales of Shakespeare, Charles and Mary Lamb, lived on Church Street in Edmonton and had very difficult lives handicapped by poverty, class and ill health. During a period of unbearable stress, Mary murdered their mother and was taken to a mental institution.Yet despite this, the brother and sister succeeded in becoming famous writers and close friends of Wordsworth, Coleridge and Keats. The Lambs’ Tale tells their extraordinary story through puppetry, words and music, interweaving scenes from their lives with the Shakespeare plays they adapted for children.

  • The Girls Dem – Love Sax and All That Jazz

The girls are back in Alan Charles’ smash hit musical comedy Love, Sax and all that Jazz. The show is now in its 5th year having finished runs in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, High Wycombe, Sheffield, Oxford and Trinidad.The production chronicles the experience of five female friends as they navigate their lives around love, sex and all that drama. Through music, drama, comedy and poetry you will be taken on a roller coaster experience of laughter and intrigue in this production that will uplift, inspire and edutain.

  • Alexandra Palace Organ Concert

  • Livestock

Local musicians, including some of the finest talent from Palmers Green’s St Harmonica’s Blues Club, will feature in this one-day event. Plus there will be circus activities, kids’ arts and crafts, face painting, theatre, local food stalls and a double-decker bus bar, plus relax in the vintage tea area or have a massage.

  • Forward to Freedom exhibition

This Is Local London:

The story of the Anti-Apartheid Movement and its campaigns to support the people of South Africa. Tottenham played a big part as local activists ran a long campaign to stop Tottenham Tesco’s stocking South African goods, protested against all-white South African sports teams and fundraised for the liberation movements. Bernie Grant was a leading campaigner and visited South Africa in 1990 to greet Nelson Mandela on his release from prison. In 1990 Haringey gave ANC leader Oliver Tambo the freedom of the borough.
