SIX-year-old Burhan Ali, from Hayes, has had his dearest wish, to visit Disneyland Paris, granted by Starlight Children’s Foundation, the UK’s leading wish-granting charity for children with serious and terminal illnesses.

Burhan was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in July 2012 and his family has had to watch him undergo a long course of chemotherapy, which is due to finish in September 2015.

Burhan loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on TV with his brother Ayaan, 9, and his sister Zunairah, 3.

He adores Mickey Mouse and has always dreamt of meeting his favourite Disney character!

Ozma, Burhan’s mum, heard about Starlight and the once-in-a-lifetime wishes it grants and decided to put him forward for a wish.

The charity’s team of Wish Granters said they would be delighted to grant Burhan a special wish – he would just need to choose what his would be!

Soon, Burhan and his family were off to Disneyland Paris, staying at the luxury Disney Newport Bay Club.

The charity had also arranged for them to have special passes that enabled them to skip the queues.

Highlight of the trip for Burhan was the Disney breakfast that had been arranged by Starlight.

It was a chance for him to meet some of Disney’s best-known characters, including Pluto and Minnie and, of course, his favourite character.

Mickey gave Burhan, Zunairah and Ayaan a big hug and they had their photo taken with him.

Burhan’s mum, Ozma, said, “I would like to thank Starlight for arranging such a wonderful trip for Burhan and us. He had a fantastic time and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. The whole trip will be remembered by him forever.”
