A Tottenham teenager who nearly lost a hand after being attacked with an axe might face jail.
Ashley Fagan, 18, of Dawlish Road, pleaded guilty to carrying a lock-knife at Blackfriars Crown Court in July.
He became involved in a fight in March that resulted in him being hit with an axe while walking with his girlfriend in Upper Street, Islington.
Police have been unable to continue their case against a man believed to have been the axe attacker.
Mr Fagan’s barrister, Karim Ezzat, said the teenager had been stabbed before and was carrying the knife to protect himself.
Mr Fagan is due to be sentenced for affray and possession of a lock-knife on Tuesday.
