A pop-up storytelling show for children and parents helped raise money for a museum’s expansion.

Storytellers Claudia Mernick and Lawrence Mathias performed in West House, Pinner Memorial Park, with a series of tales on the theme of nature.

The performance was one of three performed by the park in parks across the borough.

The Pinner park performance also helped collect more than £50 for the Heath Robinson Museum at West House which is raising money for the expansion.

William Heath Robinson was best known for his pictures of ingenious and unlikely machines and lived in Pinner.

The museum project has raised more than £1million with Heritage Lottery Funding, but still needs to raise money for the construction phase of the new expansion.

Trustee of the West House and Heath Robinson Museum Trust Cynthia Wells said: “We are working as hard as we can to make the Heath Robinson Museum a reality for children like these.

“It will be a tremendous resource for Harrow.”
