Get into the minds of some of the worst serial killers the world has seen during an intriguing evening with a retired murder squad detective.

Trevor Marriott will present his latest show, The World’s Worst Serial Killers, to an audience at Epsom Playhouse next month.

Marriott joined the Bedfordshire police force in 1970 and dug into murder cases, as well as earning his stripes in the Special Branch.

Having finally concluded his long and protracted cold case investigation into the serial killer Jack the Ripper, he embarked on an extensive study of the cases of some of the worst serial killers from around the world.

In the show, he describes and highlights the murders committed by 20 of the world’s worst serial killers, many of which may not be that familiar to those with a fascination into the crimes of serial killers.

During the evening, 200 photographs of victims and their killers and of original crime scenes will be shown - many of which will never have been seen in public before, as well as video clips of interviews with some of the killers.

The playhouse says: "Trevor not only portrays the killers as the monsters they are, but goes to great lengths to show the errors and bad decisions made by law enforcement officers in allowing some of these killers to roam free to kill again before finally being captured.

"He also shows the pain, suffering and anguish the victims must have endured before succumbing to death, and the pain and suffering from the families who had loved ones taken from them in such violent and tragic ways when publicly confronting the killers.

"This show is not for the squeamish or faint-hearted as many of the photographs shown are of a very graphic nature, which some may find disturbing.

"It’s without a doubt one of the most enthralling and captivating shows ever to be seen in a theatre, and as likely as not, the audience may shed more than a tear or two before the evening ends."

This will be Marriott’s second visit to Epsom this year.

In February, he presented his talk, Jack the Ripper - A 21st Century Investigation, at the Playhouse.
