Twelve Bexley youngsters learned house-building trades as part of a summer school.
Year 10 students from Welling School, Woodside School and Oakwood school honed their practical skills at a Construct training centre in Crayford.
The pupils learnt and practised intricate skills including, decorating, bricklaying and carpentry.
Natalie Case from Welling School in Elsa Road, said: "I really enjoyed the course.
"I never thought I would like tiling, bricklaying and so much more."
Construct manager Dave Jerrom said: "It has been a pleasure introducing such an enthusiastic group of young people to construction skills and a possible career path in the future."
The project finished on August 1 and was funded by N-gage, a scheme supporting Bexley young people to make positive progress.
